LAUREN BURGE

production designer - set decorator - prop master

I grew up in Los Alamitos, CA and moved to New York to attend NYU.  After graduating from Tisch’s Film and Television program, I stayed in New York and have since been pursuing a career in the film world as an art director, set decorator, prop master, and shopper.

I have been lucky enough to work with wonderful and talented people and on a wide range of projects ranging from internet sketch comedy and commercials to feature films.  I was proud to be a regular fixture of the College Humor's New York freelance team and working with them has been an important element in molding my creative style and having the ability to be completely hands-on when it comes to props and set design.  I have recently worked with companies like Comedy Central, Jax Media, ApK, Click 3x and the Cooking Channel, to name a few.

I take great pride in my work.  I do not stop working and perfecting until it’s time to shoot and I have worked very hard to maintain a solid reputation as a problem-solver with a very astringent work ethic.  A lot of the work I do is made with my own hands and it’s one of the great joys in this business to be able to see the positive reactions and feedback on a job well done.

When you work with me you can expect organization and an open line of communication to be a major priority.  I feel that being on the same page is the best way to save time and frustration and it’s important to me that anyone who works with me knows that my door is always open to answer questions, address concerns and assess any issues before they become problems.  Breakdowns are always done in a timely fashion and accessible to anyone who needs them.  I have always felt that any project in the film/photo production world is full of so many moving parts, so to speak, and I like to make sure that whoever brings me onto the project knows that they can count on me to take one department worry off of their list.  Trust is something I have worked hard to earn and intend to keep for a long time.

I live in Brooklyn and I enjoy spending time with my dog, taking drives to see new places and things and cooking for the people that I love.  Creating is and has always been a passion of mine, whether it be writing, painting, drawing, sewing, or singing (when no one’s home…), or finding wonderful and old things in antique and thrift shops, so I am very lucky to be part of an industry that nurtures these things.  I’m always looking for inspiration and I feel lucky every day that I live in this world and get to do so.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you sometime soon on set!
